So i was on a game called Kingdom Rush on Kongregate, bossing it like a total Jesus when on the last level there was a generic bad guy. This caused me to think and question myself. When was the last time there was a bad guy that wasn't generic and rather, instead, was pretty bad ass?
So this guy? FFVII's Sephiroth has his perks. He has a big bad ass sword + 1 coolness. He isn't afraid to take on the world. +5 coolness. Except the fact he sucks. This is just my opinion though. I admit he pulls of the whole silent, bad ass thing pretty well but where's that personality? He's definatly outside the box of "Die" and "all the world will be in despair" but for me, he lacks personality.
/inb4 fanboy rape.
Okay, so before we go through lists and so on, lets see some generic bad guy quotes.
See how theres that whole "i'm trying a little TOO hard," to be scary? Not bashing on Kingdom Rush as I vegged on the game for a good few hours, but being a bad ass villain should come natural.
Now this little minx? DAMN! Glados from the Portal series, although is a robot, was one bad ass, invincible mother fucker.(toptip!: She isn't really invincible) Glados was one of those bad guys that really had the personality that would let you feel the hate and try to annoy you, yet at the same time keep you so indulged you HAD to play more. +10 cunning. Now the down side. The fear factor. She had the frightening personality but other than that she didn't have the physical side of portaying the bad ass villain.
The question is where do we get the right mix? World of Warcrafts Lich King? He definatly has that nice mixture but he was too minion this and minion that. He needed more of a I shall wipe out this city bare handedly cause i feel like it. Pyramid head? Too silent. Gannondorf? Not enough fear factor.
So i suppose its about time we wrap this up with a conclusion and something generally cool or random. Is there a character, that will provide my needs in not being a "generic villian"? Either way here's a mouse that looks like the batmobile.
now that conclusion had nothing to do with a conclusion but that was..... AWESOME
